Intern Engineer

The distinction between assistant and intern is a simple one: assistants are paid, interns are not.
[Joyce Carol Oates, Beasts]

Don’t worry, our internships are paid. Several of our alumni have even gone on to engineering careers at Huawei, Intel, Microsoft, Schlumberger, and University of Malaya.

Work Structure
We have a clearly structured internship program that has been optimised through many cycles.

  • Preparations
Our interns hit the ground running. So, preparatory work needs to be done before the start of the internship.
  • Initiation
Ramping up is done in an intensive brain dump that has to be completed within the first week.
  • Deliverables
Projects are broken down into tasks with clear milestones and deliverables.
After Hours
All work and no play will make everyone dull. We have regular activities such as:

  • Movies
We all go out to watch a good film at the local cinema regularly.
  • Food
Everyone gets a welcome and farewell lunch with dinners to celebrate special occasions.
  • Outreach
Interns are encouraged to attend technical talks and outreach programs.

Tasks range from chip design, embedded systems design, low-level software through to web application development. We need people from a host of disciplines and specialisations from electronics to mathematics.

You can also listen to a podcast of our previous intern being interviewed on his internship.
